My opnions on the sims 4

I know its late, allmos a year after sims 4 came out. But that just means that I spend alot of time, playing the game before I express what I really think. When the sims 4 first came out. I read alot of negative first impressions and revievs. But some of the things that people felt the game was lacking, has been added since in free updates.

When I first heard about the sims 4, I decided that I wouldent get it. I though that I would be dissapointed, like I was with the sims 3. I did enjoy playing sims 3, but I didnt like how the game looked,  there were too many rabit holes, I was dissapointed in some of the exspansions and didnt use them. In the end the game had become cluttered, like they tryed to do too much at the same time.
So if the sims 4 turned out to be similiair to that, I didnt wanna spend money on it.
But then I saw pictures of it, and I heard that they were going back to their roots. for the look of it, the sims 4 was gonna be more like the sims 2 - and I beacame exited. Some thought it looked ugly beacuse it didnt look realistic, but I personally pefer the cartoonish style of the sims 2.

The create a sims demo was fantastic!!

I really like the hairstyles and clothes, it all seemed so stylish and versatile. In the sims 2 and 3 I thought alot of the clothes in the base game was bland. But in this demo I spend ALOT of time creating different caracters, and make oufits that fitted their personality. I thought I might miss the design tool from the sims 3, but the clothes has enough color options as it is. And the way the clothes are sorted, really helps you find what you are looking for. Hats are seperate from hairstyles, I was really hoping for that - so now you can put any hat on any hairstyle.
I allso really enjoy how you can mold your sims, I had fun playing around with body types. The ability to choose how you sims walk, is allso new and exiting.

It looked like theere would be no toddlers though, and I hoped that would change. I would allso have liked the sims to have more traits. I missed the ability to choose their favorite color, music and food, like you could in the sims 3. But that was only a few negative points against alot of postive.

My boyfriend and I both got the game when it came out. He isnt uselly into The sims, but he thought sims 4 looked pretty good.

Willow Creek

Oasis springs
I felt dissapointed when I saw the world, it was just two small towns. There werent really many lots to build on, or verry many options for where your sims could live. Compared to the sims 3, it just seemed so small.

But when you actually went places in the game, it turned out that the world is bigger. Everywhere you go the landscape is beautiful, and it streches out beyound what you see on the map. there are even hidden lots in each town.

But unlike the sims 3, the sims 4 is not open world. Well its kinda semi open world. The town are seperated into neighborhood, and those your sims can walk around in freely. But if you have to leave you home, to go to the park in another neighborhood, then there is a loading screen.
The open world in the sims 3 was awsome, but it didnt allways work too well, since object and sims sometimes took a long time rendering. Allso when you went somewhere, it could be hard to find other sims, because they had to be divided all over the town. In the sims 4 there are allways alot of  other sims around wherever you go. So I understand their decision to not make the game open world, and I can live with the loading screens. But the thing that I really didnt like, was that if you had one sims in the household go to the park, then you cannot control the sims left at home. This frustrated me since I have a tendency to micromanage my sims. But it helps that you can put your sims at home to little tasks, like study this or socialice with that sim. At first it was hard to get my sims out of the house, but now im getting used to not being able to micromanage them all the time.

Newcrest

Annyway people complained that there werent enogh lots to build on, and not enought places where your sims could live. Therefore we got a free update, that included a new town called Newcrest. This town is completly empty, and ready for new buildings. At first I dint think I would use it, but its super nice to have a place to put new buildings. I put a water park, a common park and a spa in the town. BUT most of the lots are kinda small. And Newcrest dosent have a hidden lot, which is fine but it would have been fun if it had one.

I LOVE that they can now multitaske, it is really a great thing. Its so easy for your sim to have a group conversation, and that is something I had wished for in previous sim games. Its allso easy for your sim to do things like writing or  painting while chatting with friends or family.
Its a really big help, that sims can eat or do homework while listening to music. It makes it easier to get their fun up, after a hard day of work.

I allso really like the new addition of feelings. I think the sims are more expressive, and I like how easy it is to see if a sim is happy,  angry or sad, since they walk a certain way.

I like the jobs that are being offered, and how each acreer they have two branches to follow. some of the jobs seems pretty standart, like cook, painter and musician. Other jobs are more different like astronaut and secret agent. I did feel like there werent that many to choose from though. I quess the developers had the same thought, because with a free update two new careers was added - athlete and business. Oh and your sim get rewards when they get promoted. There are object in buy mode that are locked, but when your sim get promoted they get one of the items in their inventory - I really like this feature.

I have never been much into throving parties, in the previous sims games. I often found that parties were too diffucult to make fun, so it just ended up making my sim sad, that she/he had a bad party. In the sims 4 hower, I quite enjoy throwing parties. One of the reasons is that there are certain tasks that you have to do, for it to be a good party. For example at a wedding you have to get your sims married, talk with the guest, drink drinks and cut the cake. For me this makes it much easier to have a fun party, since I know extly what to do to make it so. Another reason is that at these parties, the sims actually mingle - because of the ability to multitask.

Babies look really cute, I like their little onesie - its nice that they actually have legs unlike in the sims 3. And sim mothers now have the ability to brestfeed. But its kinda weird how the babies arent fully sims. They dont have personally traits, and they have to stay in their crib. I would have liked it better if you could change the baby on changeing table, and sit with him/her in rocking chair. Maybe even have a play mat. There really is not much to these babies, besides being cute. And there is only one crib, I had hoped for 3 to choose between.

I enjoyed collecting things in the sims 3, but in the sims 4 I REALLY like it. The way you can keep track of your collection, makes it easy and fun to see how many you can complete, and what you are missing. There is so much to collect and so many different collections, that there is something for every sims. When the game pack outdoor retreat came out, I was happy to see that it added new things to collect (insects). And the first exspansion pack allso added a few more collectables. So it seems that you will never be done collecting, and this is something I can spend alot of time with.

When basement where added to the game I was super happy, I had been wanting them for a while. The first thing I did was make Tess a huge basement where she could keep her collections.

All in all I really like the sims 4, it looks fantastic, it works well, and the new features are great. I mean the game is asome, just for how much time I can spend in create a sim. But I do wish there had been more focus on family play, I really hope we get an exspansion that focus on that.
